Marin-Marie

Marin-Marie was born on December 10 1901 at Fougerolles du Plessis ( Mayenne, France) his real name is Paul Emmanuel Marin-Marie Durand , he was a writer and marine painter.
In 1923 - 1924 he exhibited at the gallery Devambez in Paris .
He had a passion for yachting , regattas, the adventure of sailing alone: Marin-Marie made an Atlantic crossing on Winibelle II in May 1933. In 1936 , he makes another performance by crossing the Atlantic in 19 days from New York on a motorboat diesel. He died in 1987 at his home in Saint-Hilaire-du-Harcouët, holder of many awards in the field of marine art. Having sailed on all types of ship, he was a major witness in the history of the French navy.
