Giovanni Domenico Tiepolo

Giovanni Domenico Tiepolo, the son of Giambattista made this magnificent drawing "LE MARIAGE DE LA VIERGE MARIE", with ink and sepia in the year 1792 to illustrate a bible together with another 313 "sepias". This work of art was sold last month in Paris by Prunier SVV.

Giovanni Domenico Tiepolo, also called Giandomenico Tiepolo ( 1727— 1804), Venetian artist, son of the Rococo painter Giovanni Battista Tiepolo. He was a talented genre painter, especially of scenes from contemporary life.  He produced innumerable drawings for collectors, besides nearly 200 etchings after his own and his father’s designs.
